Tips and ideas on how to be classy, creative, and fun in the classroom. |
Getting to know all of your new students on the first day is always a great way to start! A common way is to have a sheet of questions about the student (ex. favorite color, what they did this summer, hobbies, etc.). Many have students interview each other, and then they will introduce their partner to the class. This is always for for the first few, but by the end it can get a little boring. Change up the average and have students fill out the sheets about themselves and hand them back to you. Then, you can read out the information and try to let students guess who you are describing. The more interesting the facts, the more fun you will have. Try introducing students just a few at a time. For example, you could introduce five before lunch, five after lunch, and six before recess. This will help students be able to remember just a little bit more about their brand new friends for the year!
What a perfect idea!!!
