binca23 asked: When I first started my tumblr I somehow find this one. I now get excited when I see your posts because I am an aspiring elementry school teacher. :) I'm a senior now and going to fill out college applications very soon. I live in Chicago, Illinois and my top choice right now is, U of I in Urbana-Champaign. I was just wondering if you knew of any top notch schools that really encourage teaching? I'm sure you get asked this a lot, so I really really appreciate your response. :)
Thank you so much for checking out the blog! New teachers make me SO excited. When need more people in education who are excited about students and excited about teaching.
According to College Crunch, the top twenty schools for education are:
1. Michigan State
2. Penn State
3. Ohio University
4. Stanford
5. University of Virginia
6. Indiana University
7. Columbia
8. University of Michigan Ann Arbor
9. Ohio State
10. Vanderbilt
11. Berkeley
12. University of Illinois- Urbana Champaign (YOUR TOP CHOICE!!!)
13. Harvard
14. Georgia
15. UCLA
16. University of Washington
17. University of Maryland
18. University of Minnesota
19. USC (California)
20. George Washington University
Obviously you have done your research since you picked the number twelve school! Personally, I would say go with your first choice. I only applied to two schools my senior year, and I am incredibly happy with my decision. To read more on U of I and all of the other schools on this list, check out this website. Good luck with senior year and next fall in school! If you ever have any questions, please ask. My passion is helping future teachers! My email is Teachersintiaras@gmail.com.
