Tips and ideas on how to be classy, creative, and fun in the classroom. |
Halloween is almost a month away! A great way to celebrate in your classroom is with these fun monsters! Use them as decoration around the classroom, or have each student bring in their own tissue box (or try your best to snag some around school). Then, allow every student to decorate his or her own monster. Leave the monsters on the student’s desk to fill up with candy on Halloween.
On the website I found this on, she used it at a “Tattle Monster.” Throughout the school day, if the students wish to tattle on one another they simply place a slip in the tattle monster. But if someone is hurt, he or she knows to tell the teacher right away. If you’re thinking of using him that way include the poem, “The Tattle Monster will listen to you when you have something to say. Just talk to him or write it down, and tell what happened today. But if you or anyone is hurt: please don’t delay! Come to me so I can help and make sure you are okay.”
Instructions:
1. Spray paint an empty tissue box with the color of your choice.
2. After the box is dried, add polka dots (or another design) using craft paint and the end of a paint brush.
3. Draw jagged, uneven teeth on white craft foam and cut out as one solid row (straight edge on one side, “teeth” on the other).
4. Cut out two sections of an egg carton and glue on googly eyes for the eyes.
5. Use a hot glue gun to attach the eyes and teeth.

I found this at Giggles Galore. She has TONS of cute ideas. Check it out!
