The writing Center was great when we were doing a Community Helpers unit in the classroom. The writing center was turned into the classroom post office for the week and we had a little mail box. The kids wrote letters to either the teacher or their peers and put them in an envelope with some fake stamps on them and they mailed them but putting them in the mail box. By the afternoon everyday that mail box would be full of letters and pictures the kids all wrote and drew.
